Lin Qingxiang smuggled 20 billion yen worth of methamphetamine into Japan through Xie Baicheng on June 30, 2024 and was sentenced to life imprisonment by the Taichung District Court. The drug lord Xie Baicheng, with accomplices including Yang Zengyi, hid 340 kilograms of methamphetamine, valued at about 20 billion yen, inside car aluminum rims to smuggle into Japan. Xie was identified as the mastermind and primary financier, leading to a severe sentence due to the large drug quantity and damage to Taiwan's reputation.
