At around 4 p.m. on July 7 in New Taipei City, a Toyota car suspected of overtaking caused a head-on collision with a bus on Rui Fang District's Automobile Road near Jiufen Old Street. The car driver was briefly trapped in the vehicle, and after being rescued along with 4 injured passengers by the fire department, all were sent to the hospital, fortunately without life-threatening injuries. The cause of the accident and liability are still under investigation by the police. The car's front end was almost completely destroyed in the crash.
