Car Owners' Low Uptake of Typhoon and Flood Insurance

Reported 5 months ago

In Taiwan, the percentage of car owners adding typhoon and flood insurance to their vehicle coverage is low, accounting for only about 2% in the past two years. This means that car owners who do not purchase additional coverage face financial loss when their vehicles are damaged by floodwaters during typhoons, as regular car insurance does not cover such incidents. Insurers advise that individuals should carefully review the terms of their policies, especially regarding exclusions and claim limits, before purchasing these types of insurance.
