Carbon Trading Regulations to Be Implemented on August 15th, Paper Stocks Attract Attention

Reported 12 months ago

The regulations related to carbon trading will come into effect on August 15, with domestic carbon credits expected to be listed on the Taiwan Carbon Exchange by the end of September or early October. This has sparked interest in paper stocks closely linked to carbon credits, such as Hua Paper, which has over 30,000 hectares of forest land, estimating a carbon sequestration of about 2.9 million tons. The industry is also focused on carbon fees, urging the government to carefully assess the impact on industries and determine industries at high risk of carbon leakage.
