On June 25, 2024, as the COVID-19 pandemic resurges, Taiwan's Centers for Disease Control announced 817 new cases last week, higher than the previous week's 624 new cases, causing a surge in emergency room wait times at National Taiwan University Hospital with nearly a hundred patients. Dr. Su Yifeng, a thoracic physician, shared on Facebook that the wife of one of his hospitalized patients, who got infected while caring for her spouse, ended up falling and injuring herself.
