Carl Edwards and Ricky Rudd have been elected to the NASCAR Hall of Fame, along with car owner Ralph Moody and safety innovator Dean Sicking. Edwards won 28 races during his career, coming close to a championship in 2008 and 2011 before retiring in 2016. Rudd achieved 23 wins over 33 years, setting a record for consecutive starts. Moody, a WWII veteran, had success as a team owner, and Sicking was recognized for his contributions to safety in motorsports with the creation of the SAFER Barrier.
