Cathay United Bank released its first 'Anti-Fraud Behavior Investigation Report', revealing that 75% of respondents received fraudulent messages within three months, with 31% falling victim, indicating one in three people got scammed. Investment fraud affected nearly 30% across all age groups, while online shopping scams were more prevalent among young and middle-aged adults, with older individuals falling prey to impersonation scams and fake police scams. Despite significant losses, many victims do not report to the authorities, citing reasons such as the belief that reporting won't help recover money, fear of being seen as 'foolish' or 'greedy', and the hassle of reporting.
