CATL Predicts Half of China's Heavy Truck Sales Will Be Electric by 2028

According to CATL's chairman, Zeng Yuqun, up to 50% of heavy truck sales in China could shift to electric vehicles (EVs) by 2028, increasing from just 10% in 2024. This trend highlights growing challenges for fuel demand in the trucking sector, particularly affected by the rise of LNG trucks. CATL is also expanding its manufacturing capabilities in Shandong, aiming to create a major battery industry cluster worth billions.
