On June 22, 2024, in Taichung's Shuishui, a well-established silver shop was robbed where the thief stole a set of women's gold jewelry and a man's gold necklace totaling about 300,000. The thief quickly sold the necklace at another shop, paid off some debts, but was arrested within 3 hours. The 70-year-old shop owner, preparing for retirement, was robbed before retiring. The thief, a 33-year-old man from Taoyuan, was found in different clothing when caught, showing a well-planned escape attempt, including changing disguises multiple times during his escape journey.
