Ko Chien-ming, the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) Legislative Yuan caucus convener, was caught smoking in the parliament again, this time during a cross-party negotiation. The incident was recorded on the parliamentary live stream, leading to a complaint filed by Taipei City Councilor Liao Tsai-wei. If found guilty, Ko could face a maximum fine of 10,000 NT. This is not the first time Ko has been reported for smoking indoors in the Legislative Yuan, with a previous incident in the Premier's office. Despite the complaints, Ko did not show remorse, dismissing the issue as 'boring.' Taipei City Health Bureau is investigating the latest complaint, which includes video evidence, and may issue a fine ranging from 2,000 to 10,000 NT according to the Tobacco Hazards Prevention Act.
