During an interview, Lin Youchang from the DPP emphasized that under CCP standards, those who believe the Republic of China is a sovereign independent country are considered Taiwan independence advocates. The new Chinese regulations include penalties up to the death sentence for acts of 'splitting the country,' causing debates across the strait. According to Lin, individuals from various political parties who view Taiwan as a sovereign independent country will be deemed Taiwan independence advocates by the CCP, putting the KMT and MPP in a challenging position. The regulations include punishing acts such as advocating Taiwan's membership in exclusive international organizations and denying Taiwan's part of China in the media.
