On June 17, 2024, at 10:10 a.m., a graduation ceremony at Fule Elementary School in Chiayi County took a tragic turn when the ceiling collapsed, injuring two parents. The school promptly contacted an ambulance to transport the injured parents to Chiayi Christian Hospital for treatment. Fortunately, their injuries were minor. County Councilor Chen Wen-chung demanded a thorough inspection of school facilities to prevent similar accidents in the future. The cause of the collapse is suspected to be roof leakage leading to the ceiling unable to withstand the weight, with further investigation pending.
