On July 1, 2024, reporters from SET News, Chen Yijie, Zhang Jundi, and Zhang Zhanshi, revealed a mysterious sight at Taichung's Shui Nan Central Park: hundreds of randomly scattered circular holes filled with debris or grass. These holes, called 'Dong Dong Ban,' were conceptualized by a famous French landscape designer to promote water permeability and retention. Some holes have been leveled, but concerns remain about safety hazards. The Taichung government explained that these holes can be planted with grass or covered with debris, emphasizing their ecological functions and the need for future maintenance.
