Central US Facing Ongoing Floods! 'Century Water Dam' in Minnesota on Verge of Collapse

Reported 8 months ago

Affected by extreme weather, floods have been occurring in various parts of the world, including the central United States. Recently, the Rapidan Dam in Minnesota has been under threat of collapse due to flooding, causing river levels to rise rapidly. Although some damage has been reported on the western bridge abutment, officials have stated that the dam is still intact, and there are currently no plans for large-scale evacuations of downstream residents. The floods in the central US have resulted in environmental damage, significant financial losses, and casualties, with at least one fatality in South Dakota and the declaration of a state of emergency by Minnesota Governor Timothy James Walz. There are concerns that the historic Rapidan Dam, completed in 1910 with a hydroelectric capacity of 6 million watts, may face risks of breaching, prompting active monitoring from public works departments, emergency management agencies, and law enforcement offices.
