On June 24, 2024, at 2:31 AM, due to vigorous development of afternoon convective cloud systems, the Central Weather Bureau issued a heavy rain advisory for Keelung City, Taipei City, New Taipei City, Taoyuan City, Hsinchu County, Miaoli County, Taichung City, Nantou County, Yunlin County, Chiayi County, Yilan County, and Hualien County. In addition, immediate thunderstorm messages were issued for New Taipei City, Taoyuan City, and Hsinchu County, with warnings until 15:15, urging the public to be cautious of lightning, strong winds, landslides, falling rocks, flash floods, and water accumulation in low-lying areas.
