In a legislative meeting, People First Party Legislator Chen Chao-Zhi questioned Premier Su Tseng-chang regarding the Parliament Reform Reconsideration proposed by the Executive Yuan. She criticized the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) for previously accusing the Executive Yuan of disrespecting Parliament while in opposition, but now opposing the establishment of a crime of contempt in the legislature. Su Tseng-chang agreed that respect should be given to both individuals and the parliament, suggesting finding ways to stop such behavior. However, he emphasized the importance of not exceeding judicial and supervisory powers when making legal amendments, stating that any disrespect towards individuals or the parliament 'should not be allowed,' and careful consideration should be given to the content of the amendments. Chen Chao-Zhi urged Su Tseng-chang to withdraw the reconsideration to ease the tension between the ruling and opposition parties.
