During Taipei Mayor Ko Wen-je's final Twin City Forum, the 1.07 million fee incurred was not approved by the Taipei City Council due to a violation of an attached resolution, becoming a bad debt. In response, Ko Wen-je's wife Chen Pei-chi stated on Facebook that if the city government issues the bill, she will immediately transfer the amount and urged the city government and council not to engage in double standards. With the increasing disruptions by the CCP, she proposed that in future, the Mayor should bear the personal cost of organizing the Twin City Forum.
