The meeting was discussing proposed amendments to the Public Officials Election Recall Act, which included controversial clauses about raising recall thresholds. Amidst the chaos, exchanges between lawmakers became heated, with accusations and insults hurled, including one DPP member mocking the People First Party for allegedly stealing Taiwan's dragon fruit. After around 10 minutes of tension, Chen Zhihan left the venue. The meeting also saw other confrontations and controversies, with various parties expressing their discontent and frustrations.
