Chen Zhihan Gatecrashes Legislative Yuan Committee Livestream, Huang Chih-hsien Taunts: Pretending to be a Legislator for Fun?

Reported about 1 year ago

On July 5, 2024, at 12:30 AM, Chen Zhihan livestreamed from the Internal Affairs Committee. The revision of certain clauses of the Public Officials Election and Recall Act in the Legislative Yuan's Internal Affairs Committee sparked conflict between the blue and green camps. All 8 members of the People First Party were absent, but their caucus leader Chen Zhihan entered the committee and livestreamed, stating their party's stance against raising the recall threshold. Huang Chih-hsien criticized this entry, questioning if Chen Zhihan, as a party caucus leader, had the right to barge into the committee, livestream, confront legislators on-site, and speak up. Huang also suggested that Chen Zhihan's actions were beyond her authority and mocked the People First Party for its contradictory stance on recall thresholds. Additionally, Huang revealed that another party legislator, Mai Yujen, signed in but left the committee meeting early, disclosing that she had illegally brought Taiwan-grown red-heart dragon fruit into Vietnam. Huang challenged the authority given to Chen Zhihan by Huang Kuo-chang or Ko Wen-je and posed four questions regarding her role and actions during the committee meeting.
