The city council’s finance committee has voted on proposals adding up to over $4 billion, requiring full city council approval. Plans include issuing up to $3 billion for O’Hare improvements, $1 billion for short-term spending, and $400 million to refinance the water system. Additionally, the council approved bond sales for multi-family housing to increase affordable housing availability in the central business district.
