Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes expressed respect for kicker Harrison Butker's right to express his beliefs, despite not always agreeing with them. Butker delivered a controversial commencement address criticizing various topics, including Pride month, President Joe Biden's stance on abortion, and women's roles in society. Mahomes emphasized judging Butker based on his character and not letting differing beliefs create division in the team. NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell declined to comment further on the league's distancing from Butker's remarks, highlighting the importance of diversity of opinions within the league. Chiefs coach Andy Reid also emphasized respecting each other's opinions and voices within the team.
