On June 11, 2024, at 2:55 am, according to SET News, reporter Yang Yanlin reported from Taipei that some people discovered that children's arcade games at an amusement park in Taipei displayed simplified Chinese characters. This surprised locals who expressed confusion, saying 'This is Taiwan!' Taipei Metro immediately requested the renting company to close the machines. After improvements are made and confirmed by the amusement park, they will be reopened. Some players posted pictures on social media showing the appearance of the simplified Chinese characters on the arcade machines, causing distress. Taipei Metro responded by ensuring that the games should primarily use traditional Chinese characters with English as secondary, guiding the operators accordingly.
