China and EU Engagement on Impending EV Tariffs

Reported about 1 year ago

China and the EU have held technical discussions regarding the imminent tariffs on Chinese electric vehicles that the European Commission is expected to confirm soon. China's Ministry of Commerce stated that multiple rounds of consultations have taken place between the two parties, with hopes for further progress. The EU is set to finalize provisional import tariffs on Chinese EVs of up to 37.6% due to allegations of heavy state subsidies, leading to concerns about trade relations and cooperation in the auto industry between the two regions.
