On June 22, 2024, the Director of the Chinese National Development and Reform Commission met with the German Vice Chancellor and Minister of Economics, Robert Habeck, in Beijing to hold the first high-level dialogue on climate change and green transition cooperation between China and Germany. Five significant outcomes were announced, including initiating provincial cooperation in green transition between China and Germany, establishing an industrial carbon reduction working group, and strengthening green energy and carbon reduction cooperation. Both sides discussed key issues such as energy efficiency, climate change, industrial carbon reduction, and energy transition. This dialogue aims to enhance cooperation in green technology and explore further collaboration opportunities.
