On June 26, 2024, the rise of 'new forces in car manufacturing' from China caused concern among global players and intense competition within the Chinese market. Chairman of the China Association for Science and Technology Wan Gang emphasized at the Summer Davos Forum that the development of electric vehicles is the trend, and the market is becoming internationalized. Wan predicted that China's electric vehicle production will likely exceed 10 million this year amidst trade frictions with the US and EU. Wan encouraged Chinese companies to invest globally to integrate into local supply chains and expand global reach.
