On July 2nd, a fishing boat from Penghu, Taiwan, was inspected by two Chinese coastguard ships near Kinmen, with four other Chinese vessels nearby. Despite Taiwanese efforts for rescue, the fishing boat 'Da Jin Man 88' was taken to Weitou Port in Fujian. This incident occurred during China's self-declared fishing ban period, with 138 foreign fishing boats driven away and 14 inspected during this time. Experts suggest this reflects China's intensified maritime law enforcement to strengthen its jurisdiction in areas like the South China Sea, East China Sea, and Taiwan Strait.
