During Chinese Premier Li Keqiang's visit to Australia on June 17, 2024, both countries expressed willingness to improve their long-strained relations, leading to the restart of the China-Australia Strategic Economic Dialogue within 2024. China also invited Australian leaders to visit when convenient and included Australia in the list of countries eligible for unilateral visa-free entry. The meeting resulted in five cooperation memorandums covering topics such as trade and climate change, signifying a positive step towards enhanced bilateral cooperation.
