Following China's legal actions against Taiwan independence, Xiao Xucen, Executive Director of the Ma Ying-jeou Foundation, urged President Lai Ching-teh to change the 'Two-State Theory' towards Taiwan independence and return to the 'One China Principle' for peace and safety, emphasizing the need to rebuild mutual trust between both sides. Xiao stated that the current cross-strait tensions are more severe than past administrations, blaming Lai's pro-independence stance for the escalating situation. He warned against provoking tensions further, stressing the importance of honesty and upholding the constitutional principles for true peace and goodwill between Taiwan and China.
