China launches anti-dumping investigation into European pork and by-products

Reported 8 months ago

China has started an anti-dumping probe into imported pork and its by-products from the EU, particularly targeting Spain, the Netherlands, and Denmark, in response to EU restrictions on Chinese electric vehicle exports. The investigation will focus on various pork products like whole cuts and pig intestines, following a complaint by the China Animal Husbandry Association. This move comes after the EU announced anti-subsidy duties on Chinese cars, with fears of retaliatory tariffs. The EU remains unconcerned, urging negotiations to avoid tariffs on Spanish pork exports, as the probe is expected to be completed by June 17, 2025.
