China has officially lifted a two-year ban on poultry imports from Argentina, effective March 17, after a risk analysis. The ban was initially imposed due to an outbreak of Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPAI) in Argentina's poultry in early 2023. This reopening of trade comes amid an ongoing trade conflict with the United States, which now faces a 15% import duty on chicken products by China.
