China's aircraft manufacturer COMAC is considering Saudi Arabia as a potential market for its global expansion efforts.

Reported 6 months ago

Chinese planemaker COMAC is looking to expand globally by targeting Saudi Arabia, with Chairman Dongfeng He visiting the country and expressing interest in contributing to its aviation transportation development. Despite efforts to break into the international passenger jet market dominated by Western manufacturers, COMAC still faces challenges without certifications from the US or EU. The company recently showcased its planes in Southeast Asia and is pursuing certification with Europe's aviation regulator for its C919 narrow-body jet. Saudi Arabia, in its Vision 2030 plan to diversify its economy, is considering COMAC for potential assembly lines and partnerships to support its aviation growth.
