China Promotes Domestic Chip Lithography Machines in Semiconductor Self-Sufficiency Push

Reported 24 days ago

The Chinese government is highlighting advancements in two domestically produced lithography machines as part of its drive for technology self-reliance amidst U.S. sanctions. These machines, capable of printing intricate circuit patterns on silicon wafers, are said to have achieved significant technological breakthroughs and possess their own intellectual property. However, they still lag in performance compared to leading global competitors, particularly ASML, which remains the dominant supplier of advanced lithography systems. While China seeks to bolster its semiconductor manufacturing capabilities, it faces considerable challenges and restrictions.
