China's Commerce Ministry accuses the European Union of unfair demands in an investigation into Chinese electric vehicle imports before announcing a tariff increase of up to 38%. The Ministry claims the EU demanded excessive information from Chinese automakers and unfairly accused them of non-cooperation. Despite the additional tariffs, China has not announced any new measures but warned it will defend Chinese companies' rights and interests, possibly in response to the EU's anti-dumping investigation into European pork exports.
