Reported 11 months ago

Following President Lai Ching-te's inauguration, China has once again reduced the ECFA tariff concessions. Before the changes take effect on June 15th, Lin Bofeng, Chairman of the Three Three Business Exchange Association, led a delegation of 23 Taiwanese business leaders to visit China. They met with Song Tao, Director of China's Taiwan Affairs Office, to discuss economic and trade issues concerning Taiwan. The delegation expressed hopes for increased cross-strait exchanges to promote peace and economic prosperity. Song Tao mentioned the termination of tariff preferences on some ECFA products due to discriminatory practices by the DPP authorities, sparking discussions on current cross-strait economic challenges and the desire to revive favorable ECFA policies while exploring new opportunities for development in areas like AI and electronics.
