After more than a year without buying American wheat, China has begun inquiries for US cargoes in light of a recent trade truce with the US. This development follows China's revival of US soybean purchases and a commitment to open its agricultural market. Despite a significant drop in China’s overall wheat imports this year, the renewed interest has driven Chicago wheat futures to a peak last seen in July.
