China's Taiwan Affairs Office recently announced measures to punish persistent advocates of Taiwan independence, including the possibility of the death penalty. In response, Kuomintang former legislator Ke Chien-ming, previously labeled as a pro-independence troublemaker, expressed that facing attacks from enemies is his greatest honor and feels unconcerned about the threats. He emphasized that Chinese laws do not apply in Taiwan and that such actions would only provoke a stronger reaction from the Taiwanese people.
