China's power generation from coal and gas saw a decline of 5.4% in September, attributed to an increase in hydropower output, which rose by 31.9% year-on-year. Overall, total power generation for the month increased by 1.5% to 826.2 billion kWh. Despite a cumulative 1.2% decline in coal and gas generation over the first nine months of the year, non-hydrocarbon energy sources like wind and solar contributed to a record low in emissions from the power sector.
