China's National Audit Office's latest report revealed that out of 41 government departments and 346 affiliated units audited, a total of 5.824 trillion RMB was allocated from the budget in 2023, with discovered problems amounting to 226.26 billion RMB. Over 310 significant cases of violations were found and transferred since May 2023, involving more than 1,200 individuals. The audit work in China, known as 'economic health check,' is crucial for the government's supervision system. The report highlighted issues such as regional corruption from collusion between officials and businesses, hindrances to policy implementation due to taking advantage of policy incentives, and increasingly sophisticated corruption methods.
