From June 16 onwards, Fujian and Guangdong provinces in China experienced 'severe rainstorms,' leading to flooding, landslides, and at least 9 deaths and 17 missing. Additionally, in the western region of Xinjiang, sudden heavy rain triggered flash floods and mudslides, resulting in 4 people missing. Guangdong's Meizhou city faced extreme rainfall, with some areas receiving up to 369.3 mm within 24 hours, leading to casualties and landslides. Rescue efforts are ongoing with over 9,000 personnel involved. Fujian also suffered severe impacts with significant damages and casualties. Xinjiang's Changji city dealt with road blockages due to flash floods, with ongoing search operations for missing persons. Sichuan province also faced mudslides, prompting emergency evacuations.
