Deadly rains in China are aiding the recovery of mega-dams, leading to a surge in clean energy production and hydroelectric stocks reaching record levels. Hydropower generation has increased by 8.4% in the first four months of the year, with more rainfall expected in the Yangtze River basin this summer. China's largest dam company is nearing a $100 billion market value, reversing a two-year output decline caused by a 2022 drought. The rise in clean energy output is helping reduce fossil fuel demand and move China towards peaking emissions earlier than planned.
