Tianqi Lithium Corp. anticipates a net loss of up to 8.2 billion yuan ($1.1 billion) for 2024 and has suspended its expansion project in Australia due to ongoing declines in the battery metals market. Despite increased production and sales, falling lithium prices have sharply impacted profitability, and the company expects reduced income from its investment in a Chilean lithium producer. Consequently, construction on a second production line at its Kwinana lithium refinery has also been halted.
