China has initiated two investigations into the U.S. semiconductor sector just before impending trade discussions in Madrid. The Ministry of Commerce announced an anti-dumping investigation into certain imported U.S. analog IC chips and an anti-discrimination probe related to U.S. actions against China's chip industry. This move follows the U.S. adding 23 Chinese companies to a restricted entities list. U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent is scheduled to meet Chinese Vice Premier He Lifeng to address ongoing trade tensions and potential tariff increases.
