After China announced harsh penalties including possible death sentence under the '22 measures against Taiwan independence', news came out that Taiwan might raise the travel advisory to China to 'orange' (avoid non-essential travel). The Taiwanese Executive Yuan spokesperson confirmed the discussions and cautioned citizens to reconsider the necessity of traveling to China and urged Taiwanese in China to prioritize their safety. Additionally, concerns were raised about Chinese media involvement in Taiwanese TV productions, prompting the Ministry of Culture to request clarification from Xinhua News Agency on the matter. The Executive Yuan emphasized the importance of free speech in Taiwan and expressed hopes for a warm and respectful society.
