According to media reports, it was alleged that Chinese official media were involved in producing political talk shows in Taiwan and even sent people to monitor the filming studio. The Ministry of Culture and Mainland Affairs Commission have both stated that they will investigate the matter, while the television station involved denies the accusations. The Chinese Mainland Affairs Office spokesperson Zhu Fenglian responded that this is entirely fake news, purely rumors. The situation arose from a report that a TV station's political talk show had substantial involvement from a Xinhua News Agency journalist in Taiwan, who directly monitored the studio to ensure the show met the Mainland Affairs Office's requirements for exerting influence over Taiwan. The issue has caused friction between the parties involved, with accusations and denials back and forth.
