On the morning of June 17, 2024, a civilian fan page recorded several Chinese airline civil aviation planes unusually flying over the skies of Kinmen and Matsu, with sightings and reactions from the public. The Civil Aviation Administration responded, stating that Chinese civil aviation planes deviated due to weather conditions and did not affect Taiwan's flight safety. Due to the influence of a frontal system on June 17, adverse weather was generated in the Taiwan Strait and along the coast of China, with Chinese air traffic control units contacting the Taiwanese side regarding possible aircraft deviating over Matsu and Kinmen airspace due to weather factors to ensure flight safety. Observations showed that the planes flying over Kinmen and Matsu did not enter Taiwan's terminal control areas, thus not affecting Taiwanese civil aviation flights. The Taiwanese air traffic control units will continue to monitor to ensure flight safety.
