On July 2, 2024, Chinese coast guard forcibly boarded and took away a Taiwanese fishing vessel, 'Da Jinman,' causing concern among local fishermen. The incident took place about 23.7 nautical miles northeast of Lluo Harbor, Kinmen. Despite the Taiwanese Coast Guard's attempts to rescue and calls for the release of the fishing vessel, the Chinese coast guard refused and other Chinese ships gathered, leading to a halt in pursuit to avoid escalation. After approximately 2 hours, the sequence of events was exposed. The Taiwanese authorities are working through diplomatic channels to secure the release of the crew and vessel.
