On June 19, 2024, Taiwan's Coast Guard Administration's Deputy Director Xie Qingqin announced the activities of Chinese coast guard vessels disturbing the waters near Kinmen in June. The coast guard revealed that in the first half of June, an average of about 4 Chinese coast guard vessels were detected daily near the restricted and prohibited areas in Kinmen's waters, but none entered Taiwan's waters. Measures such as utilizing technology like radar with infrared cameras, expanding drone surveillance, and equipping Taiwanese fishing vessels with AIS systems were discussed to enhance maritime security.
