In China, former Defense Ministers Wei Fenghe and Li Shangfu were expelled from the Communist Party and had their National People's Congress membership terminated due to allegations of bribery. The Central Military Commission found them guilty of serious violations and referred them to the military procuratorate for prosecution. Wei was accused of seeking personal gains and accepting bribes, while Li was charged with bribery and giving bribes. Their actions were deemed to have seriously harmed the defense and military construction, as well as tainted the image of senior leadership with the report mentioning their behavior as having a 'severe nature, extremely bad influence, and particularly huge harm'.
