A Taiwanese fishing boat, the 'Da Jin Man 88', was forcibly detained by Chinese coast guard while operating in waters near Kinmen last night. The Fisheries Agency urged China to handle the issue pragmatically to ensure the safe release of the crew. Legislator Huang Kuo-chang of the People's Party emphasized the government's need for a stern attitude, holding the Mainland Affairs Council and Ocean Affairs Council accountable. Huang stressed the importance of defending the safety of Taiwanese people and fishermen, and urged the government to protect them with firm determination.
