Sales of Zeekr electric vehicles have drastically increased in Russia over the past year, with Chinese carmakers surpassing local competition in the country's growing electric vehicle sector. Chinese brands have taken over more than half of Russia's car market following the withdrawal of Western competitors, resulting in a 350% surge in new EV sales from May 2023 to April 2024. Despite challenges such as a lack of charging infrastructure and traditional reliance on oil and gas, the rise in EV sales signals a shift towards Chinese dominance in the Russian automotive industry.
